AgriSmart Payroll Integration Case Study

See how AgriSmart uses ZKBio Time via API across New Zealand, supporting 7,000+ staff and hundreds of biometric devices for accurate payroll-ready time data.

For more than seven years, NZTeco has worked alongside AgriSmart as a trusted payroll integration partner, helping support accurate biometric time capture across a large and growing client footprint in New Zealand.

Using ZKBio Time software via API, AgriSmart connects attendance data from hundreds of biometric devices into payroll-driven workflows for multiple national clients. Today, that environment supports more than 7,000 staff members across New Zealand.

This is not a small single-site setup. It is a long-running, real-world deployment built around scale, reliability, and clean time data.

The Challenge

AgriSmart supports businesses that need dependable time capture across multiple locations, teams, and payroll environments.

At that scale, manual processes do not hold up well. Paper-based records, unverified clockings, and disconnected systems create extra work for payroll teams and increase the risk of mistakes, disputes, and wasted admin time.

The requirement was clear:

  • capture time accurately at the point of work
  • reduce reliance on manual timesheet handling
  • support multiple client environments across New Zealand
  • move attendance data cleanly into payroll-related workflows
  • maintain a setup that can scale across large workforces and many devices

The Solution

NZTeco helped support an integration model built around ZKBio Time and the API, giving AgriSmart a reliable way to work with biometric attendance data across a broad national footprint.

The deployment uses a mix of proven ZKTeco hardware, including:

  • SpeedFace V5L devices across the majority of sites
  • SpeedFace V5L-TI devices where that model was preferred
  • Horus H1 devices for added flexibility in selected environments

This combination gave AgriSmart a practical mix of fixed and mobile biometric time capture, while keeping the wider software workflow centred around ZKBio Time.

Why this setup works

The strength of this solution is not just the hardware.

It is the way the full workflow comes together.

Biometric devices in the field capture time at source.
ZKBio Time acts as the central attendance platform.
The API allows AgriSmart to use that data within its own payroll integration workflows.

That means AgriSmart can support clients with a more connected process, where attendance data is captured, synchronised, and made available for payroll handling without the same level of manual intervention that older methods usually require.

Deployment at scale

This project stands out because of the scale and consistency of the rollout.

AgriSmart is not using a handful of devices in one branch.
They are supporting hundreds of devices in the field across multiple national clients throughout New Zealand.

That kind of environment demands:
  • stable software communication
  • dependable device performance
  • consistent attendance data handling
  • a rollout model that can be repeated across many sites

The long-term relationship also says a lot. A partnership that has continued for more than seven years usually does so for a reason: the setup keeps working, and it keeps delivering value.

The result

With ZKBio Time integrated via API, AgriSmart has been able to support a large-scale biometric attendance environment that feeds into real payroll processes across New Zealand.

Key outcomes include:

  • accurate time capture from biometric devices
  • a scalable attendance environment across many client sites
  • cleaner data for payroll-related workflows
  • reduced dependence on manual handling
  • stronger consistency across large deployments
  • a proven long-term integration model between AgriSmart and NZTeco

A practical fit for payroll integration

This case study is a good example of where biometric time capture and payroll integration genuinely make sense.

When a partner like AgriSmart is supporting multiple clients, thousands of workers, and hundreds of devices, the goal is not just to collect clockings.

The goal is to create usable, payroll-ready time data that can move through the business with less friction.

That is exactly where the combination of ZKBio Time, API integration, and the right biometric hardware mix delivers value.
