Description
Servo boom barrier for busy vehicle entrances
The ZKTeco ProBG8000 Series controls vehicle entry and exit at commercial car parks, apartment developments, factories, schools, hospitals and other busy entrances. A 24 V DC brushless servo motor with planetary gear reduction drives the round straight boom, while adjustable opening and closing speeds let the installer match operation to the lane and traffic pattern.
The series has a specified 100% duty cycle and a manufacturer-rated motor MCBF of up to 10 million cycles. These figures support selection for frequent operation; they do not establish the service life of every component or remove the need for routine maintenance. The controller uses encoder feedback for speed and position adjustment, with separate opening and closing settings.
Choose the boom length and cabinet position
ProBG8030L/R supports a round straight boom up to 3 m long. ProBG8045L/R supports a round straight boom up to 4.5 m long. Both are part of this series enquiry product, so the quotation should identify the exact model and boom length supplied.
In the manufacturer’s illustrated orientation, L means the chassis is on the left with the boom extending to the right; R means the chassis is on the right with the boom extending to the left. Check the lane drawing and approach direction before ordering. Allow clearance for the complete boom movement, neighbouring traffic, maintenance access and any separate pedestrian route.
Opening and closing times are adjustable within the published 0.3–6 second range. The fastest setting should not be assumed suitable for every boom length or installation. Select the final speed with the boom balanced and the detection system commissioned. If the boom length is changed or a spring is removed, the manual requires the barrier to be rebalanced.
Clear status indication and control interfaces
A customisable seven-colour RGB LED stripe provides visible operating feedback. The published states include breathing red when closed, flowing green in normal use and flashing blue in standby. The white cabinet uses 2.0 mm cold-rolled steel with double-layer powder coating, and the boom uses 1.0 mm aluminium alloy.
The mainboard supports switch control, loop/infrared/radar detector control, anti-smash control and traffic-light control. Its interfaces also include RS-485. A connected parking controller, reader or camera must provide compatible signals and be specified as part of the complete entrance system; these accessories are not established as included by the barrier specification.
An optional Ethernet module supports remote configuration, status monitoring and firmware upgrades through PC tools. An optional Bluetooth module supports on-site commissioning and debugging through a mobile app. Confirm these modules in the quotation when the project needs them.
Specify detection and emergency behaviour
Digital anti-collision, auto-rebound and pole-off functions are listed for the barrier. External radar, vehicle detectors, infrared sensors and other anti-smash sensing equipment depend on the chosen accessories and wiring. Detection coverage, closing logic and rebound behaviour should be tested for the actual vehicles and lane layout. A vehicle barrier should be planned alongside a suitable pedestrian route.
The fire-alarm linkage uses a dry-contact relay input. Power-off opening is a configurable controller function; the manual lists it as disabled by default. Agree and test the required emergency and power-loss behaviour during commissioning. For a connected VR30 radar, the manual requires a separate 12 V DC supply and specifically says not to draw its power from the barrier mainboard.
Installation and project quotation
IP54 protection and an operating temperature range of −40°C to +80°C are specified for indoor, outdoor and semi-outdoor use. Installation requires a flat, level and securely supported mounting surface. The chassis measures 370 × 325 × 1020 mm and weighs 50 kg net, excluding the boom. Check foundation, drainage, cable routes and environmental exposure for the site.
The manufacturer lists AC 110 V / 220 V ±10%, 50/60 Hz input and DC 24 V, 20 A output. Confirm the supplied electrical configuration for the New Zealand installation.
