Description

Turn glass into a transparent digital canvas

The ZKDigimax LED Crystal Film Screen brings moving digital content to glass without turning the glass into a conventional framed video wall. This ultra-thin, transparent LED film adheres directly to glass, so it can introduce high-impact promotion, brand storytelling or visitor information while preserving the openness and architectural character of a window, railing or glass curtain wall.

The crystal-film format is designed to be lightweight, flexible and bendable. At as little as 5 kg/m² and 2.5 mm thin, it offers a practical alternative where available depth, weight and sight lines rule out a traditional cabinet display. The product uses Mini LED technology, invisible mesh wiring and a custom potting process to keep the screen’s visual profile as discreet as possible when it is not displaying content.

Choose the transparency and pixel pitch for the project

Five pixel-pitch options are available: P6.25, P8, P10, P15 and P20. The P6.25, P8, P10 and P20 options use 1,000 × 400 mm modules, while P15 uses 990 × 390 mm modules. Transparency ranges from 90% on P6.25 through to 95% on P20. This gives designers a useful range when balancing detail, visibility and the amount of natural light or retail view retained behind the display.

The specification lists 2,000/4,000 cd/m² brightness, 160° viewing angle, 16-bit greyscale and a 100,000-hour lifespan. With a maximum/average power specification of 600/200 W/m², these values provide a sound basis for planning the power and display layout. The system uses AC 110–240 V at 50/60 Hz and supports NovaStar or Colorlight control systems.

Designed for direct-to-glass installation

Crystal Film is a peel-and-stick display designed to adhere directly to glass, with signal and power connections arranged for straightforward installation. The manufacturer describes the film as self-adhering and designed to become more secure over time. Although a supporting steel structure is not required for the film itself, every project still needs suitable glass, a clean installation surface, electrical provision and a professionally planned signal route.

The range is specified as V1-grade fire resistant and UV resistant, with the manufacturer stating no yellowing for 5–10 years. It is also presented as suitable for indoor and outdoor applications. These product characteristics do not replace a site-specific assessment: confirm the substrate, weather exposure, power and installation method with NZTeco before selecting the final configuration.

Applications that retain the view

Glass curtain walls, storefronts, glass railings and escalators are all shown in the official product materials. For a retail frontage, the screen can deliver a campaign message while keeping the interior visible. In a foyer, atrium or transport setting, it can add digital content to existing glass features without the visual bulk of a conventional display structure.

Design the digital layer around the architecture

Crystal Film projects benefit from a coordinated design process. Measure the glass area, identify mullions, doors, rails and sight lines, then match the selected pixel pitch and module layout to the content and viewing distance. This approach helps retain the visual benefits of the transparent film while giving the digital message sufficient scale, contrast and legibility for people passing the installation.

For best results, plan artwork around the transparent pixel structure, audience viewing distance, ambient light and the glass features that remain visible behind the content.
