Description
The Armatura Avalon Series is an aesthetics-focused swing-barrier entrance-control system available as the Avalon-S1000 single-lane unit and Avalon-S1200 dual-lane configuration. It is designed for sites that need controlled pedestrian access with a refined glass-and-steel appearance, flexible reader integration and configurable lane widths.
Flexible lanes for modern entrances
The standard lane is 650mm wide, with a 920mm option listed for accessibility-focused layouts. Avalon-S1000 is the single-lane unit; Avalon-S1200 provides a dual-lane arrangement. Barrier leaves are available in standard acrylic or optional tempered glass, with heights and widths selected for the project. The final layout should be designed around required circulation, accessibility and evacuation routes.
Authentication where it suits the entrance
Avalon supports under-mount, top-mount and side-mount authentication configurations. Listed options include RFID, QR code, mobile credentials, fingerprint, facial recognition and palm recognition, with some options dependent on the selected configuration. Top mounting supports external facial-recognition terminals, while side mounting is available for RFID, QR and mobile credential readers.
For a complete solution, use compatible EP20 Series readers, an OmniAC30 biometric terminal, and an AHDU-1260 controller where the project calls for an Armatura controller.
Fast, controlled barrier movement
The system uses a German-made DC brushless motor with listed open/close timing of 0.3 to 0.6 seconds, depending on leaf size. A mechanical clutch supports anti-panic and anti-collision operation, while 12 pairs of matrix-layout infrared sensors, current detection and safety-force sensing help support anti-clamping and presence detection. The manufacturer lists anti-tailgating and pass-memory functions in the system controller.
Installation and use
Avalon has an IP33 rating and is described by the manufacturer for indoor use. It should not be treated as a weatherproof external barrier. The chassis combines tempered glass and high-carbon steel; the standard lid is black-and-white tempered glass, and the chassis colour is white as standard with customisation available. Installation needs a flat, level finished floor, suitable fire-alarm interface and a project-specific review of safety, accessibility and local compliance.
