ZKTeco OP1200: Expansion Unit for Optical Turnstile

The ZKTeco OP1200 is the additional-lane unit for the OP1000 optical turnstile system ? a slimline pedestal with IR sensors on both sides, designed to sit between OP1000 master pedestals to create multi-lane optical turnstile rows. SUS304 stainless construction matches the OP1000 aesthetic. Cannot operate standalone.

Description

The OP1200 follows the same expansion-pedestal logic as the SBTL8200 (swing barrier expansion) and FBL6200 Pro (flap barrier expansion). One OP1000 master at each end of the row plus OP1200 expansion pedestals between them creates a multi-lane optical turnstile bank ? same look, same behaviour, more throughput.

How multi-lane optical rows work

Each pedestal in the row carries IR sensors on both sides. An OP1000 at each end of the row is the master controller and provides the primary cabinet detail; OP1200 pedestals between them create the additional lanes by completing the IR field between adjacent units. A four-lane row needs 2 ? OP1000 (at each end) plus 3 ? OP1200 (between them) ? five pedestals creating four lanes. The master and expansion pedestals are visually identical from the public-facing side; the cost saving from using expansion units rather than full OP1000 cabinets adds up across multi-lane installs.

Where multi-lane optical rows fit in NZ

  • Major corporate HQ receptions: Bank, insurance and consulting head offices with 1,000+ staff arriving in concentrated peak windows.
  • University main library entries: Student-card lanes for high throughput between class breaks.
  • Airport and rail terminal staff entries: Multi-lane staff entry at major transit hubs.
  • Stadium and major event venues: Member and season-ticket lanes at the entry to large venues.
  • Government precinct receptions: Multi-lane public entry with separate staff and visitor lanes.
  • Hospital main entries at major DHBs: Multi-lane staff entry at large campuses.

Specifying a multi-lane optical row

  • Pedestal count: N + 1 pedestals create N lanes (e.g. 4 lanes = 5 pedestals: 2 ? OP1000 + 3 ? OP1200).
  • Throughput: Around 60 people per lane per minute ? a four-lane row peaks around 240/min.
  • Reader integration: Optional RFID, fingerprint readers in each cabinet top ? match types across lanes or vary by lane purpose.
  • Lane width: Standard lane plus an accessibility-compliant wide lane is best practice in NZ commercial fit-outs.
  • Mounting: Floor-fixed, base plates supplied ? confirm slab depth and re-bar at site survey.
