The ZKTeco G4L pairs visible-light facial recognition with SilkID fingerprint authentication on a 7-inch touchscreen ? built for sites where face is the primary read but fingerprints need to work reliably on wet, dry or rough hands. Wireless-ready for retrofits without new Cat6 runs, and 10,000-user capacity for mid-sized NZ deployments. Sits in the Green Label range for time-and-attendance clock-in.
The G4L solves a specific NZ problem: face recognition is fast and clean for most staff, but a percentage of any workforce ? chefs, mechanics, nurses, builders ? have fingers that wear, scar or stay wet, and standard fingerprint sensors fail on them constantly. The G4L addresses both with one device.
SilkID is ZKTeco’s premium fingerprint sensor ? it reads through moisture and surface debris that defeat ordinary optical sensors. In practice that means fewer “please try again” prompts at 7am shift change and fewer manual overrides by the supervisor. Combined with the G4L’s facial recognition fallback, you get a primary-and-backup workflow that handles real workforces, not just demo conditions.
