ZKTeco DM10: Door Lock Extension Panel

The ZKTeco DM10 is the slave expansion panel for the C2-260, F18, Horus and other RS485-compatible ZKTeco controllers ? adds two more doors per module without replacing the main controller. Two Wiegand reader inputs, lock sensor and exit button inputs, 12V power pass-through, and auxiliary I/O. Cannot run standalone ? pairs only with a master controller.

Description

The DM10 is what installers add when an existing ZKTeco access control panel runs out of door slots. Rather than swap the master for a bigger model, you wire one or more DM10s onto the RS485 bus and each adds two doors to the system. Same user database, same software, same configuration ? just more doors hanging off the same controller.

How the DM10 actually fits into a system

  • It’s a slave only: No on-board user storage, no decision-making ? all access decisions stay with the master controller (C2-260, F18, Horus etc.).
  • RS485 bus: Wires onto the existing controller’s RS485 line, addressed by DIP switch.
  • Two doors per DM10: Two Wiegand reader inputs, two lock relay outputs, two exit-button inputs, two lock-sensor inputs.
  • Power: 12V in, 12V out ? pass-through powering of the connected readers and locks.
  • Auxiliary I/O: Spare input and output for fire-alarm linkage, tamper detection or external alarm integration.

Where it earns its keep in NZ rollouts

  • Phased multi-door commercial fit-outs: Start with the C2-260’s two onboard doors, add DM10 modules as tea rooms, server rooms and back-of-house doors come into scope.
  • Multi-tenant office buildings: Each tenancy has its own door count; DM10s scale with tenancy expansions without master-controller upgrades.
  • School expansion projects: New wing or admin block added to an existing access system without overhauling the controller architecture.
  • Warehouse and distribution centres: Personnel doors added to roller shutter areas as new bays are commissioned.
  • Construction site offices growing into permanent yards: Door count grows as the company moves from temp portacoms to a permanent depot.
  • Healthcare admin block expansions: Adding records rooms, finance offices and meeting room access to an existing T&A platform.

Specifying it

  • Master controller required: C2-260, F18, Horus or any RS485-capable ZKTeco controller. Cannot pair with the standalone Atlas Bio’s web-based stack ? those use a different expansion model.
  • Maximum DM10s per master: Up to four per C2-260 (totalling ten doors); confirm the limit for other masters at quote stage.
  • Bus length: Standard RS485 limits apply ? 1,200 metres total, daisy-chained.
  • Mounting: Ships in a metal cabinet for comms-cupboard install; typically lives next to the master controller.
