The Situation
The Port Authority needed a simple, contactless way to record staff and contractor hours across multiple entry points, with fast check-ins at shift changes and payroll-ready exports. Paper timesheets and manual corrections were causing delays and disputes, especially with rotating crews and contractors.
The solution
Hardware: 5 × ZKTeco SpeedPalm V5L terminals (touchless palm + face). The readers cope with variable lighting and humid conditions, reduce “buddy punching”, and speed up queues at shift changes.
Software: ZKBio Time Cloud (50-Employee plan). Browser-based attendance with timetables, exceptions, and CSV/XLSX exports compatible with common payroll systems (e.g., Xero/MYOB/Payroll-ready files).
Deployment model: Readers positioned at key gates and admin areas; IN/OUT flows configured to keep lines moving. Admins and supervisors log in via web to enrol users, review exceptions, and download payroll files.

Readers & lanes: Five SpeedPalm V5L devices across main staff/contractor flows; IN/OUT rules to reduce door congestion.
Enrolment policy: Palm + face for staff; contractors can be enrolled for limited windows and removed automatically after project completion.
Schedules & rules: Base hours + exception flags (late/early/missed). Email alerts for frequent exceptions to help supervisors intervene quickly.
Payroll export workflow: One-click CSV export matched to the Port Authority’s payroll import format; stored templates for each pay period.
