Description
The MST150 saves you from running a separate walk-through metal detector ahead of a separate turnstile. It folds both into one cabinet ? the visitor presents a credential, the turnstile arm releases, and the same step that admits them through the turnstile also passes them through the 15-zone metal detector. One footprint, one alarm log, one source of truth.
Why this matters in NZ right now
NZ schools, courthouses and corrections facilities have all been increasing perimeter security. The traditional approach ? a freestanding WTMD plus a downstream turnstile ? eats two metres of corridor and creates two separate audit trails. The MST150 collapses that into one device, which makes the install cleaner and the auditing simpler.
Real NZ deployments
- Secondary schools with elevated risk profiles: Single-point staff and visitor entry with metal-object screening, integrated with the visitor management system.
- District and regional courthouses: Public entry lane combined with bag screening on a separate X-ray (e.g. BLADE6040) ? the MST150 handles the people, the X-ray handles the bags.
- Corrections visitor centres: Visitor entry with mandatory screening before access to the visiting area.
- Manufacturing and warehouses with tool-theft history: Staff exit screening for unauthorised metal items leaving the floor.
- Government department reception: Reception and meeting-room entry with screening on portfolio buildings.
Specifying it
- Detection: 15 independent zones with adjustable sensitivity per zone ? distinguish belt-buckles and watches from larger metallic items.
- Anti-tailgating: Sensors detect a second person trying to follow through on a single credential and hold the arm.
- Alarm output: Audio and visual alert on metal detection, plus a relay output for an external alarm or guard station notification.
- Modular cabinet: No overhead beam ? easier to fit under low ceilings and in older buildings.
- Integration: Wiegand and dry-contact reader inputs accept zkbio cvaccess and most third-party access control platforms.
