The ZKTeco ZKX6040 is a compact dual-energy x-ray inspection system for parcel and small-baggage screening at NZ courthouses, government reception, mailrooms, courier depots and event entry points. Multi-colour material classification distinguishes organic, inorganic and metallic content; high-resolution imaging gives operators the detail to make confident threat decisions in seconds. Compact footprint suits space-constrained reception areas.
The ZKX6040 is the X-ray scanner specified for everyday small-bag and parcel screening ? handbags, briefcases, day-packs, A2 parcels and similar items. Compact enough to fit a standard mailroom or reception lane without rebuilding the floor, with the dual-energy imaging needed to differentiate threat materials reliably.
An item moves through the tunnel on the conveyor. Dual-energy X-ray takes two readings at different energy levels and uses the contrast to classify materials ? organic content (food, paper, drugs, explosives) shows orange, inorganic (plastics, ceramics) green, and metals blue. The trained operator sees a multi-colour image, identifies anything that doesn’t match the expected contents, and either clears the item or flags it for physical inspection. In practice, that’s a 4?10 second decision per item with a competent operator.
ZKTeco has multiple small-format X-ray product lines, including the BLADE6040 and ZKX6040. Both target small-to-medium parcel and bag screening with dual-energy imaging and operator-friendly software. The choice between them comes down to specific feature set and software compatibility ? confirm against the current spec sheet at quote stage. For palletised goods and oversized luggage, step up to the BLADE100100.
