ZKFingerVein SDK Linux - Software Development Kit for ZKTeco Fingerprint Scanners

The ZKFingerVein SDK for Linux is a developer toolkit for integrating ZKTeco’s FPV10R and FPV10M finger vein scanners into custom Linux applications. Includes API documentation, sample code and demos for capture, template extraction and matching of both finger vein and surface fingerprint signals. Aimed at NZ systems integrators building bespoke time-and-attendance, healthcare identity, or access control applications on top of ZKTeco hardware.

Description

This is a developer product, not an end-user device. If you’re a NZ systems integrator, in-house development team or ISV building software that needs to enrol, identify or verify users via finger vein biometrics, this is the SDK that lets you talk directly to the FPV10R and FPV10M scanners from your own Linux app.

What you get in the kit

  • C/C++ API: Direct device access for capture, image quality assessment, template extraction and 1:1 / 1:N matching.
  • Demo applications: Working Linux demos showing enrolment, verification and identification flows ? useful starting point for a proof-of-concept.
  • Documentation: Function reference, return-code tables and integration notes covering the dual-modal (vein + fingerprint) workflow.
  • Compatibility: Tested on common Linux distributions; consult the release notes for the validated kernel and glibc versions for your target.
  • Dual-modal: One scan captures both vein and surface fingerprint, giving you two independent biometric signals to combine in your matching policy.

NZ integration use cases

  • Healthcare staff identity: Hospital and aged-care apps verifying clinical staff at workstations and drug cabinets, where fingerprint reliability is poor and vein gives a much more dependable read.
  • Custom T&A systems: Payroll integrators building their own clock-in software around ZKTeco scanners instead of using ZKBio Time Cloud.
  • Banking and financial verification: Branch identity verification kiosks, ATM-side staff authentication, cash-handling logins.
  • Government identity research: Proof-of-concept for citizen verification, voter registration, or border control systems.
  • High-security workstation login: Replacing or supplementing password and smartcard auth on regulated systems.
  • Custom physical access control: Buildings or labs where the in-house controller stack needs vein authentication and the off-the-shelf ZKTeco access controllers don’t fit.

How it differs from the Windows SDK

Same scanner, same biometric algorithms ? different host platform. Pick the Linux SDK when your application stack runs on Linux servers or embedded Linux devices. The Windows SDK is the right fit for Windows-based kiosks and desktop apps. Cross-platform integrators usually license both.
